The U80-A’s have arrived in our warehouse and will begin shipping on Monday! We’re super keen to get these packed and out of the warehouse as quickly as possible and have extra hands joining in to speed up the process. The RWxRW edition has arrived and will be packed and shipped as soon as possible! The base for this edition came out fantastic.

Support Channel

Since beginning RAMA WORKS, I’ve always wanted to handle everything myself as everyone must receive the same care and attention. Over these few years, I’ve personally answered over 8000 support tickets (and the typical 4 level chains within) on top of those that emailed me directly. Ongoing, this hasn’t been sustainable and has prevented me from doing things to run the company in its full capacity and to work on making new products. As of yesterday, we’ve brought on a new member to work on our support channel and handle those requests. We’ve currently disabled Facebook Chat and not actively replying on Instagram/Twitter at our full capacity as it’s been overbearing - we will train up and have the ability for these channels in the following months. Previously, personally handling support emails, there are many people I have interacted with and love chatting to. With new personnel on board, we will not tolerate any disrespect or harassment towards our team members - at the end of the day, we want to do whatever we can to resolve an issue and make sure everyone is happy. We appreciate everyone’s patience and are excited for what’s to come for the rest of the year as I have more time to allocate in what I enjoy. I will continue to focus more effort in supporting this update blog whenever possible! 💛

135 Canister / Silver Hotshoes

With the Film Canisters / Hotshoes, we thought that we had received all units in the first shipment. Unfortunately, this was not the case. With the reduced transit/freight flights, we’ve had to space out our shipments as there’s a newly introduced weight limit with some carriers in reducing the amount of air-freight you can send at a time. So we’re receiving items in batches. The first batch was the all the 120 (4U) canisters, and we’ve shipped out all of those orders. We’ve shipped around 60% of the 135 (2U) canisters and are expecting to receive the second batch in about two weeks where we will swiftly pack and send them as soon as they arrive. The same case with the hotshoes, all KURO units have shipped and are expecting to receive the MIST hotshoes by the end of the week or early next. Some orders may have had the shipping labels already printed, and have received a ship notification - as soon as the extra 135 canisters arrived and are picked up by DHL, you’ll receive an email from DHL 🤗

U80-A Freight / MK / WEAR

For the U80-A we will be receiving all colours in the first batch of shipment, this means we can ship most orders out in the first 2 weeks of receiving and should expect the remaining ~200 units to arrive once we pack the first batch. After the second batch, all will be delivered.

This week, we are continuing to pack the remainder of the film accessories and are starting to ship the WEAR jewellery.

M50-A Assembly/Typing Video + Extended / M65-B / GRID Caps / FILM / CANVAS

M50-A

We’ve extended the M50-A pre-order period to the 30th of this month, we’ve also created a quick video showcasing it! Unfortunately, with our move, we didn’t have everything we needed. But, either way - we hope you like the look of the board, we’re incredibly happy with the feel and size of it!

We’ve also extended the GRID keycaps to the end of the month as well. The CANVAS XL are now being packed and shipped along with the FILM accessories + NEMO. M6 Milkshake will also be shipping out to the distributors shortly!

M65-B

The machining has completed for the Aluminium variants of the M65-B! We expect to freight the Aluminium units next month and the polycarbonate ones later (will update as we are closer to the date).

M60-A EDITIONS

Camera Accessories / WEAR / THERMAL Caps - SHIPPING

Camera Accessories

We’ve finally received the Camera Accessories in our warehouse after many unfortunate transit delays. We are trying our best to make up to everyone for the long wait with including some extra items.

We’re incredibly happy with the finish of these products and are excited to see them out to all those who ordered! They’re coated in a Military Spec hard coating so will hold its colour, but we’re keen to see character develop into them from heavy use.

We really appreciate everyone's patience with this, and we will put in our own hours to have these packed as we're working on a reduced skeletal team in our Melbourne warehouse. Rest assured, they will be packed as quickly as they can be and hope to get most orders out by the end of next week. Shipping confirmations with tracking numbers will be emailed through as orders are printed (please note that this may not necessarily mean that it's packed on that day and may go out later in the week).

WEAR

As with the Camera Accessories, the WEAR Jewellery will also be packed and shipped as soon as we can package them.

THERMAL Caps

THERMAL Caps in all variations are also in and will be shipped as soon as possible.

We’re expecting a large number of shipments next week as well of other products, we will provide updates as they arrive!

As mentioned in previous blog updates, we’re increasing our manufacturing output with the addition of more CNC mills to the factory and aim to produce our products within tighter timelines!

RAMA WORKS® BUCKLE

We at RAMA WORKS®, love satisfying mechanisms and clicky things - so we designed a completely metal buckle with a new latch design. Suited for bags, belts, apparel and any other EDC. The first round of prototyping is complete and we can't wait to show more! We will be manufacturing these in a variety of sizes and offer them both at wholesale and our own retail channels, as we’d love to see these used on some great bag designs from other manufacturers! The design of the buckle mechanism is unique and enjoyable to use.

The THERMAL and U80-A PCB’s are inbound from our manufacturer, and we will have it in our warehouse within the month. Orders which have the U80-A or THERMAL PCB by itself will be shipped out once they’ve arrived!

PROJECT UPDATES

M60-A SEQ2

The contents of our container of M60-A units are arriving at our warehouse this Thursday or Friday - we’ll post an update when it does!

U80-A

The machining for the U80 will finish this month! It will then move onto finish treatment; this includes: polishing, bead-blasting + surface treatment (Anodising / PVD). As each piece needs to be polished before it’s either bead-blasted or coated, it will take some time. We estimate it to finish production by the middle of February. Packaging & Logistics will also take a considerable amount of time given the number of units.

THERMAL

We estimate the THERMAL units to finish production at the end of February. Again, it will have to go considerable packaging and logistics before they ship. For both the U80 & THERMAL we estimate it will ship in Q1 of 2020.

NEMO

NEMO will be completed machining this month, it will then move to the final processing. Note that this does not include the RW01 which will finish in Q1 of 2020. We will be shipping both NEMO and RW01 in Q1 - we’re working on some special packaging to include with each unit!

Camera Accessories

These should be shipping in February! They have finished manufacturing and will be assembled & packed when they arrive in our warehouse.

RW XO Switch Puller / Production Begins

RW XO Switch Puller

We have completed the final round of prototyping for our RAMA WORKS® XO Switch Puller. We’ve designed this product to easily remove switches as quickly and accurately as possible without damaging the switch or scratching your case. It’s made out of SS304 and powder coated in our signature YOLK colour then laser etched with the RAMA mark and product code.

These will be included with the M60-A SEQ2 and the U80-A.

Rama Works x MIGHTYKILLERS® Photography Accessories - Development

135 Film 2U Canister

After receiving feedback from MIGHTYKILLERS® on the 2U prototype of the film canister, we’ve made some adjustments that we think will make it ready for market. We’re currently waiting on the second round of prototypes for review. We’ve added a new closure system to the top lid to make it quicker and more satisfying to open and close the film canister lids. Instead of the previous twist-lock cap, we’re utilizing our new pushbutton cam-lock that will snap the lid in when simply pushing it into the enclosure.

Here is what the Rama Works - Pushbutton cam-lock mechanism looks like.

Past this, we’re looking to introduce a new material / edition to the lineup. Mirror-Polished Aluminium. This edition will beautifully wear as used, giving itself character and stories over time. We’ve also increased the specifications on the black-anodised film canister to be a Military Spec Type III hard-anodising - this will increase it’s strength and resistance to scratches and wear.
