Project Updates - June 2022

As we wait for products to arrive at our warehouse, we have been working on some items which will be included with our upcoming releases:

WORK IN PROGRESS. Featuring holographic, foil and other premium features.

NFC Access Control Cards: 

We needed some elite access control cards for our office, so we decided to make our own! They’re stainless steel, weighing in at 25g and 0.8mm thick. There’s a deep-etched circular center on one side where the RFID chip sits, allowing us to not use the typical plastic lamination for one side of the card and have it remain full metal. They are laser etched, painted and have a lot of detail. These will first be available in stock alongside some of the other items arriving next month: The XO Team cap, XO Pens.

Collaboration Artisan Keycaps: 

We’ve received another batch of our collaboration caps which are currently being QC'd and packed by our warehousing team as quickly as possible to our distributors. For those who have purchased directly from us, please contact us through support@rama.works if you have moved/changed addresses and our team will be happy to assist as best we can.

XO Pens 

After initial QC we have opted to refinish the brass units of the XO PENS. We are expecting them to arrive by the end of this month leading up to the start of next month.
UPDATE: The first batch is inbound to our warehouse (the brass ones are being re-finished as we wernt’t satisfied with the finish of the brass units)

Chess Set: 

The first revision of the packaging came in which we are really happy with. It feels like a solid showcase piece you would want to keep on a coffee table. There have been some minor adjustments made and the second set of samples are en route.

JARS: 

We were expecting to receive the JARS last week, but the manufacturer has informed us of an issue with the rubber seals. The new gasket tooling will be finished by next week and the JARS will ship out that same week. We will post updates when this has been shipped through our socials e.g. Instagram, so please be sure to follow us if you haven’t already.
UPDATE: These are inbound to our warehouse.

60%/65% PCB's: 

The latest round of PCBs have arrived and we are currently performing further evaluation and testing. We are also remolding the PE Foam to adjust the sound signature and adding additional cutouts for the stabilisers.

THERMAL 

The SEQ 2 THERMAL units are in the final stages of assembly and packaging at the factory and will soon move to complete the assembly/packing of the THERMAL+ units. We will create another update when these are done and ready for sea-freight.

M60-B, M65-C, U80-B:

At this stage we’re looking at next year for fulfillment, we will keep updated if this is pushed forward.

KARA:

Pending the completion of the updated PCB’s we expect we can have the units completed soon after.

MATS: (IN PRODUCTION)

Packaging production is underway and when complete, will be assembled and shipped to our warehouse for fulfillment. We are expecting these to arrive in 2 months.

LOVE MATS DONATION:

Proceeds of our LOVE Mat edition MATS will be donated to Beyond Blue. Every month, thousands of people reach out to Beyond Blue for advice, support and information. Your donations go directly towards funding Beyond Blue’s Support Service so these calls don’t go unanswered. By supporting Beyond Blue, we are joining a community that is working to reduce the stigma, prejudice and discrimination that act as barriers to people reaching out for support. 

Doubleshot Keycaps  (KATE/CAPS):

The latest round of fine tuned samples have arrived and there are still very minor inconsistencies. We were still not 100% happy with the quality and again, Injection Molding is an iterative process - tooling after tooling changes until the end result is what’s expected. We are expecting to receive another batch soon, and will post pictures when they’re in.

Project Updates - April 2022

RAMA WORKS has invested our time and resources to continuously improve and bring the best quality products to our customers. Although we have constantly been trying our best to push all the products out on our end, we are unfortunately stuck with limitations. The Global Covid Pandemic has caused more delays this year, with businesses and logistics being completely shut, then reopening with reduced capacity causing a backlog. Understandably we know this is frustrating. However, we will continue to do our best and keep everything moving and work out ways to avoid this in the future.

Our team has been working on new and exciting ideas, which we want to source and produce locally to avoid any further halts to production due to the pandemic while supporting local businesses. So stay tuned to the magic our team has been working on!

Doubleshot Keycaps:
After receiving the last batch of samples a few weeks ago, we were not 100% happy with the quality. We made some adjustments to the doubleshot tooling, which is more involved due to the material shrinkage and material flow between the legends. The samples with the new adjustments will arrive soon, and we are confident they will meet our high-quality standards and proceed with production.

We’re also adjusting the case to have an extended internal hinge - we’ve received the updated sample of this and are happy with it, and it is what will be utilised for the end product.

Jar: Production nearly completed
After adjusting the top lid mould to increase the draft angle by 2 degrees to apply a heavier texture finish to improve the grip, we have also opted for a translucent finish for better wear, which would hide any visible scratches over time. Hopefully, if there are no further logistical delays due to covid restrictions with the supply chain, we should be on track to get these out in the next month as they are currently being all moulded.

The M6-C PCB’s have finally arrived at our warehouse and are going through a rigourous quality check. We have the M6-C Dandy enclosures and GRID caps in our Melbourne Warehouse and will be ready to ship these shortly. We expect the remainder of the M6-C enclosures to be completed in 1-3 months. We’ll also make available in stock the new GRID colours we made for these.

Our manufacturing partners in Shenzhen / Shanghai have been placed under strict lockdown to curb the current COVID outbreak. This means that the global supply chain across all sectors will be disrupted for the foreseeable future. We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to do our best under circumstances out of control. Thank you to all our loyal ongoing clients for their patients during these difficult times. We understand the delays can be frustrating, and in the ideal setting with no supply chain issues, we would be able to get the products to you in a timely manner. The past year has shown us how quickly things can change, so we are also adapting our Business by looking at new products we can source locally to avoid these issues and continue providing high-quality products.

Project Updates - March 2022

We at RAMA WORKS place quality and care at our highest priority; we want to deliver a product we’re proud of.

Doubleshot Keycaps:
Two weeks ago, we received the latest batch of sample caps from the mould, and we’re still not completely satisfied with the legends on the modifier caps - we’ve outlined the changes we require and expect the next round of samples to arrive in 2-3 weeks or so. Again, Injection Molding is an iterative process - tooling after tooling changes until the end result is what’s expected. Doubleshot tooling is a bit more involved as the material shrinkage, and material flow between the legend and the casing needs to be accounted for. We’re confident that the keycaps will be completed relatively quickly once we receive samples we’re happy with. Of course, this is taking longer than expected, but we want what will be received by our customers to be what we expect.

We’re also adjusting the case to have an extended internal hinge - we’ve received the updated sample of this and are happy with it, and it is what will be utilised for the end product.

Jar:
These are almost production-ready; the top lid mould is being adjusted to increase the draft angle by 2 degrees to apply a heavier texture finish. The current texture does not have enough grip.

Here’s how the profile’s changing:

We can expect the production to complete in around 1-2 months.

THERMAL SEQ2 / THERMAL+:

We are expecting these to arrive in 2-4 months. We will have a fair amount of extra units available for these.

Pen:

Enclosures are done, and the included pen ink has been secured - we’re finalising the packaging. We should receive these in 1-2 months. We’ll also have extra’s available when they arrive and the original orders are shipped.

M6-C:

The M6-C PCB’s will be arriving in a month. We have the M6-C Dandy enclosures and GRID caps in our Melbourne Warehouse and will be ready to ship once the PCBs arrive. We expect the remainder of the M6-C enclosures to be completed in 1-3 months. We’ll also make available in-stock the new GRID colours we made for these.

Chess Set:

2-4 months until complete

KARA / M60-B / M65-C:

We’ve received the samples of the updated PCBs and are currently testing them before putting them into production. We’ve tested them in the KARA and M65 with ICED plates, and they feel really great; it provides a lot more dampening/give with the typing experience.

Metal Keycaps:

We are aiming to complete all outstanding keycaps within 1-4 months.

U80-A SEQ 2 Extras / Trays:
Being packed and going out ASAP!

PROJECT UPDATES

We are wishing everyone a Happy New Year! The team here at RAMA WORKS is excited to start fresh and work away at new projects.

The Chinese New Year will fall on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, starting the Year of the Tiger. Celebrations traditionally last for 3-4 weeks and will result in a halt in manufacturing during the holiday; however, we have many products arriving before this, which our Melbourne warehouse will continue to operate for fulfilment.

U80-A SEQ2

STATUS: FULFILMENT IN PROGRESS

We have been working around the clock to ensure that you all receive your U80-A SEQ 2 after the long wait. We know this project has taken some time, and we thank you all for patiently waiting and being understanding of the current circumstances. The famed M60 silhouette returns with newly updated internals with the removal of the integrated plate in favour of the gasket mounted sub-assembly. Keeping its aesthetic beauty from its predecessor, first released in 2018, the M60-B has been re-engineered & designed to provide a modern typing experience with added compatibility with our KARA range. STATUS: IN PRODUCTION

CHESS PIECES:

After careful consideration, we have opted to proceed with a more classical chess set look (white and black) with ceramic coating for durability and a superior finish. We have also installed silicone feet on the pieces to protect the board's surface and prevent slipping. 

BOARD

The board features a thick 14mm acrylic base, with silkscreen graphics on the underside - encasing it below the crystal housing. The design of the board has remained essentially the same.

STATUS: Pre-Production

The latest off-tool samples have come out of the moulds with their final texture finish and are inbound to our HQ. We can't wait to show the pre-production samples when they land!

U80-A SEQ2

STATUS: FULFILMENT ABOUT TO COMMENCE 

PCB:

The PCBs are finally on their way to our warehouse as we speak! Fulfilment can commence as soon as they arrive at our Melbourne distribution centre. The warehouse team has been very busy organising in preparation for the final components to arrive so we can get all your orders out the door as soon as they land. 

ENCASEMENT:

Encasements, U80 backplates, and internal weights are at our warehouse, awaiting the remaining PCB’s to begin the fulfilment of our orders. 

We have been working around the clock to ensure that we can get these U-80-A SEQ 2 to all our customers after the long wait as soon as we receive all the necessary parts. We know this project has taken some time, and we thank you all for patiently waiting and being understanding of the current circumstances. 

THERMAL SEQ2/THERMAL+

STATUS: IN PRODUCTION

Thermal SEQ2 and Thermal+  encasement are now complete after the desired rose-gold colour has been rectified. These should hopefully be shipped off soon to our warehouse and awaiting other components to fulfil our customer orders expected late Q1 2022. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we have more information.

CAPS KEYSETS 

STATUS: FINAL DAY TO PREORDER

By popular demand and with a bit of help from our manufacturing partners, we are proud to offer this product at a lower price point (excluding CASE). We have made some adjustments to the tooling (Currently at Off-Tool Samples 3 [T3]) and are now finalising the double-shot legends, but overall are very happy - production will be relatively quick when the tooling is complete. Rest assured, the CAPS will be of the high-quality standard and aesthetic of RAMA WORKS® and we are super excited to hear and see these on whichever board they crown!

Project Updates - Mid November 2021

We would like to sincerely apologise to all our customers for the lack of recent updates, we have been busy working away getting everything back on track to do what we love and produce top-quality products. We recently have welcomed some brand new staff to our team which has been really exciting! We also have been slowly transitioning back into the office from strict Melbourne COVID lockdown so have been thoroughly enjoying the ability to work together again. We are all very dedicated and committed to getting things running full steam ahead so we are excited for the next chapter at RAMA WORKS®. ZENITH

STATUS: FINISHING UP FULFILMENT 

We are currently shipping out the last few orders and hope that all of our customers are enjoying their brand new ZENITH.

U80-A SEQ2

STATUS: IN PRODUCTION

PCB:

Production of U80-A SEQ2 PCBs was temporarily halted due to the global microchip shortage caused by the pandemic. We are pleased to announce we have secured the necessary supplies and production will resume shortly.

ENCASEMENT:

Our manufacturing partners are experiencing backlogs from the Golden Week holiday in China as well as reduced production capacity from the power tariff imposed by the government leading up to winter. We have received the first batch of encasements, U80 backplates, and internal weights that have arrived at our Melbourne distribution center. We are awaiting the remaining parts, and PCB’s to begin the fulfillment of our orders. 

No one would love to get these out quicker to our customers more than us, for everyone to enjoy them. We know this project has taken some time, and we thank you all for patiently waiting and being understanding of the current circumstances. We are working around the clock to make sure as soon as we receive the last few components, we can ship them off to our customers with no glitches! We are hoping to get the U80-A SEQ 2 to our customers by the end of the year, however, we will keep you all posted closer to the date with any updates we receive. 

THERMAL SEQ2/THERMAL+

STATUS: IN PRODUCTION

Thermal SEQ2 and Thermal+ are currently being anodised. We ran into some issues with attaining the desired rose-gold colour which has since been rectified.

The pre-order period for CAPS is open until December 10th AEDT. By popular demand and with a little help from our manufacturing partners, we are proud to offer this product at a lower price point (excluding CASE). BAT 01

STATUS: MOULDING

We’ve created the first set of samples of the upcoming BAT and have started on creating the moulds that we can expect to have completed in 30-40 days which we cannot wait to show!

KATE Keycaps, M65-B ICED Bases, and WAVE SEQ2 Br Keycaps

KATE Keycap storage

We're excited to showcase our stackable storage system for our upcoming KATE caps! Each unit will be custom moulded and labelled to suit each set, allowing for a quick and easily recognisable archival solution.

M65-B ICED Bases

After some additional QC of the M65-B ICED bases, we have found that some units showcase the machining lines within the base more than others.

The machine lines are visible in some cases from the variance/inconsistency in the finishing process with bead blasting.

We understand that this is not up to the usual standards that our customers expect. To compensate for this, we will be including a free W02-A Internal Dampener. If you already have a dampener or weight in your order, then a random artisan keycap (neutral colour) will be included instead.

Given that the machining lines only appear on the bottom/base, the appearance of them is essentially hidden by the dampener.

Below are images showing a unit with the machining lines, and the appearance after the dampener is installed. The images were taken under lighting to purposefully emphasise the machining lines for clarity.

WAVE SEQ2 Br Keycaps

It has come to our attention that the MOON and GOLD WAVE SEQ2 Br keycaps were incorrectly finished and some units have shipped out already. Instead of a PVD polished finish on the outward facing sides, the entire keycap was bead blasted instead.

We are reproducing the keycaps in the correct finish. Customers will all receive the correct keycap. For anyone that has received a keycap(s), there is no need to return them.

Project Updates - Early March 2021

M65-B ICED 

The M65-B ICED units landed in dock earlier this week and are currently undergoing customs clearance. We expect to receive them by the end of this week. This shipment includes the ICED plates and bases.

Project Updates - Late February 2021

M65-B

Fulfilment of the non-ICED M65-B orders is very close to complete, with a handful still to go out.

We’re expecting to finish the remainder by the end of this week.

IN-STOCK MILK THERMAL

Once M65-B fulfilment is finished, we will move on to shipping the MILK THERMALs from the in-stock raffle sale held earlier on the 12th of February. This will begin on the 1st of March at the latest.

ZENITH

Almost all of the ZENITH units have completed machining and polishing and are scheduled to progress into the anodising stage after our manufacturer returns from the LNY holidays i.e. today!

KARA

Our manufacturer has informed us that, due to LNY congestion at the port, the shipment of KARAs did not leave as scheduled. Instead, it is now booked to leave on the 25th of February.

NEMO DECOMMISSION 2

NEMO is all finished up now and is just getting his unique serial numbers etched before packing!

M60-A OLIVIA/LNY20 + M65-B ICED + M50-A + JULES

No new information for the above keyboards currently. Please see the previous update. Docking ETAs etc. will be posted once we receive them.

Project Updates - Late January 2021

THERMAL

Thanks to the hard work of our fulfilment team over last week (with multiple 30°C+ (86°F) days!), we have now finalised the majority of THERMAL orders. The remainder (<50) will be going out this upcoming week.

The M65-B orders will also begin shipping later this week. 

The ICED units have finished and are in QC and being packed at our manufacturer as we speak.

The container for this shipment is being arranged currently. We’ll update again once we have a scheduled docking date!

M60-A OLIVIA/LNY20

The M60-A OLIVIA and LNY20 editions have completed QC and are being packed currently. They will be shipped alongside the M65-B ICED units.

M50-A

The M50-A units have completed QC and will begin being packed once the packaging boxes arrive from our other supplier.

JULES

JULES is currently still in anodising and QC. 

NEMO DECOMMISSION 2

NEMO is in surface treatment at the moment. We want to make sure NEMO’s face and body is nice and protected!

KARA

KARA has completed moulding and is now progressing into the assembly stage.

Some components are in short-supply at the moment, so we are waiting on the PCBs to complete.

KATE KEYCAPS

The tooling for the KATE keycaps is currently underway. We do expect this to take some time with Lunar New Year on the horizon.

IN-STOCK AND REPLACEMENT ITEMS

As we settle into the new warehouse and are able to physically access stock again, customers that have purchased in-stock items and/or have orders for replacement items can expect them to begin shipping later this week!

THERMAL + M65-B Arrival

The Rama Works team hopes everyone has had a happy and safe holidays and Happy New Year! We’re super excited to show off our new projects, lots to look forward to 🤗

We’re also catching up on our backlog of orders for in-stock items, this includes orders from mid-late December. Keep an eye out for shipping confirmations!

THERMAL + M65-B

The rest of the Thermal units and the M65-B (minus ICED) units have finally arrived at our warehouse!

The timing is a little awkward as we’re expecting delivery of hardware (packing benches, shelving etc.) and installation of pallet racking this coming week.

Access to the workspace will likely be interrupted during this process. The safety of our fulfilment team is important to us and as such, we are aiming to begin shipping the remaining Thermal units the week starting 18th of January, and the M65-B units shortly afterwards.

A message from Wilba, designer of the Thermal:

Thermal features leaf spring plate mount, an innovative plate mount design utilizing thin strips of the plate to act as a leaf spring between the plate and the case. Due to how this design works, some of the Thermal keyboards from this production have a different sound signature to the pre-production samples. There is some resonance that occurs when typing on some keys. In order to remedy this, I added some small foam pads between the ends of the leaf spring and the top part of the case. These effectively shorten the length of the leaf springs and make them slightly stiffer. Even though this change came about from fixing a problem, I think it is an improvement to the typing feel and sound of Thermal, which is why I decided it was important to make it available now.

The foam pads will be included in all Thermal orders yet to ship. If you have already received your Thermal order without the foam pads, you can contact RAMA WORKS support to arrange shipping the foam pads to you free of charge.

KARA

The KARA review units have now been sent out and should make their way into your favourite reviewers’ hands as soon as possible!

We’re anticipating to have KATE keycap prototypes towards the start of next year. We really look forward to sending these out to reviewers and are hoping they love them as much as we do 🥰

THERMAL + M65-B

The container of the remaining THERMAL and M65-B units is scheduled to be docking in the next few days! Our fingers are crossed for a fast customs clearance process 🤞

However, given the busy time of the year and the continual delays at all ports in Australia this year due to the pandemic, we are expecting it to take some time.

The M65-B ICED units are taking some extra time as the process for the frosted finish requires additional processing — they will be shipped as soon as they’re finished!

The M60-A OLIVIA and LNY20 EDITIONS are also progressing through QC and inspection, with some units still anodising. We’re expecting to be able to get them shipped together with M50-A.

Jules is very close behind with anodising well underway and moving onto QC and inspection as well.

Zenith is well into the machining stage currently!

Canvas 2

Almost all of the Canvas 2 deskmat orders that are shippable (i.e. ordered by themselves or with in-stock items) have been shipped now! If your order hasn’t shipped, please get in contact with us.

We will be looking to offer extras as in-stock once we stock take them :)

The TRAYs have just arrived and will be processed in the next couple of weeks for shipping!

GRID KEYCAPS

The NOCT GRID keycaps stock has been exhausted and they are currently on backorder. Extras have also been ordered!

U80-A Replacement ROSE bottom weights

For the people affected by the U80-A ROSE Bottom Weight issue, almost all of the replacements have been made now and are being shipped over to our warehouse in small batches currently. Once your replacement ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation.

NEMO Decommission 2 and the RW01 NIGHT EDITION car are currently in machining and expected to complete by the end of this month. They’ll then move on to anodisation!

U80-A SEQ2

Pre-production for U80-A SEQ2 is well underway - We’re waiting on ordered material and will begin machining soon.

CHESS SET

We’re working on the latest revisions of our upcoming chess set. We’re super excited and can’t wait to show more ♟

We're moving! + M65/M60/M50/THERMAL/TRAY/CANVAS

As of this week, we have secured a new warehousing and office facility! Currently, fulfilment is operating out of shared premises, so this new facility will help us improve our efficiency by providing much needed additional space.

Once the move is complete, support and fulfilment will happen in a centralised location, allowing support requests/tickets to directly liaise with warehousing as required. Design will still operate from our main office.

For now, our old facility will still fulfil orders as we begin to migrate everything across. Due to the extent of set up and organisation required for moving to the new location, the fulfilment of in-stock items may experience some delays. However, we will work to get through it as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

THERMAL + M65-B

We know many of you are keen to hear some updates for the remaining THERMAL units and M65-B.

There were some delays due to a supply issue with the packaging but this has since been rectified. The good news is they’re now packed, ready to go and the container to ship them over has been booked! Shipping is scheduled for next week and should take approximately 2-3 weeks to arrive in port.

Accounting for time spent clearing customs and additional logistics, we can expect to receive them by early December. Once arrived, they’ll be processed immediately for fulfilment!

M60-A OLIVIA/LNY20 + M50-A

The M60-A OLIVIA and LNY20 editions plus the M50-A are close behind! Once we have more specific information, we’ll make a new blog post 😊

CANVAS

The CANVAS 2 deskmats have finished packaging and are scheduled to arrive in port on the 15th of November. There are still ongoing delays at all major ports so we’re expecting at least another week or two past this date before we receive them at our warehouse. Tentatively, fulfilment could begin around late November/early December at this stage.

TRAY

The TRAYs have finished up surface treatment, so we may be able to squeeze them onto the next shipment as well — we will confirm in a later blog post!

Manufacturing and updates

While we’re here, we’d like to take this opportunity to elaborate on the manufacturing process and how it can be very difficult to give updates, such as definitively communicating that x keyboard is in y stage and will complete on z date.

Each stage of the manufacturing process is not discrete, every single unit of x keyboard is not machined first and then moved onto the next stage. For example, throughout the manufacturing lifecycle of a product, 70% of the units could still be in the machining stage, while the 30% that have already completed machining will have moved onto surface treatment and so on and so forth.

To further complicate matters, any particular unit can also move backwards in the manufacturing process. For example, if a lighter colour anodisation does not meet our QC standards, it will be re-anodised to a darker colour or e-coated.

Sometimes, we’re also working with partial and/or periodic information from our manufacturer, especially during holiday/vacation periods. We do our best to predict and extrapolate that information into tangible updates!

We’re also happy to announce that we have added another stage of QC to our post-production process. Having 2 separate stages of QC means we can more consistently ensure our high-quality standards are met and further reduce the chance of any blemished units slipping through. Additionally, we’re expanding our machining facilities again, with 20 more machines! Moving forward, this will mean faster project timelines, which will enable greater capacity to handle multiple projects and/or large quantities simultaneously.

Support

As the volume of support tickets increase, we’ve onboarded additional staff to increase our support capacity. It’s super important to us to be able to solve any issues that arise in a timely manner, as recently, our response times have been longer than we’d like. That said, we are still a small team, so as always, your patience is appreciated! 💛

Likewise, starting today, we’ll be closing our Instagram DMs. The business suite/tools provided by Facebook for Instagram DMs are horrendously unreliable. Search is finicky and accidentally losing track of a message chain has happened far too often.

While we love chatting about what new switches you’re excited to try in your M60-A and what keyset you’re matching with your U80-A, closing the DMs will allow us to better focus and track support requests with made-for-purpose software that also connects to our online store. Similar benefits were experienced after closing our Facebook messages.

Project Updates - September 2020

THERMAL

The THERMAL units have arrived at our warehouse. Preparation for shipping begins this Monday! There will be extras once all of the pre-orders are shipped.

U80-A SEQ1 EXTRAS

Fulfilment for SEQ1 is more or less complete! We’ll be performing a stock count on Monday to confirm the numbers. Expect to see the sale shortly after - date and time will be announced!

JULES

Jules is now heavily in the machining stage - they’re expected to complete by the end of October/early November currently.

M65-B

M65-B is currently being packaged at the factory - they’ll be shipped to our warehouse once complete. The PCBs are due to be complete at the end of the month and sent to us for early October arrival. The MUTE mounts have already arrived at our warehouse.

M60-A LNY/OLIVIA

Similar to Jules, these are heavily in machining, they’re expected to complete by the end of October/early November.

M50-A + GRID SET B Keycaps

The M50-A units are also in machining currently and are expected to complete by the end of October/early November. The GRID SET B Keycaps are in stock and ready to ship.

Production has officially begun for Zenith and they’re currently in the early stages of machining.

CANVAS

The Canvas deskmats are scheduled to ship from our manufacturer to our box supplier at the end of the month for packing - then shipped to our warehouse for fulfilment. Expect another month for sea-freight.

TRAY

The TRAYs are currently in production. We’ll post a further update once we receive an ETA from our manufacturer. UPDATE: Expected to complete around the end of October/Early November.

KATE

The double-shot mould production for the KATE keycaps has begun! We've finalised the placement of the legends for the tooling and progress is being made! We're working on the packaging in the meantime and can't wait to show more.

KARA

The surface finish is now being added to the mould and the master colour batches are being mixed to our specified colours. We are expecting to receive these in the following weeks. Once these are inspected, tested and signed off - we can begin the pre-order! We were really hoping KARA would be ready by the end of this month but as we mentioned in previous updates, we want to get this product exactly right as it’s our favourite to date - we cannot wait for people to try these out for themselves! We’re working on a line of accessories for the KARA series as well.

NEMO Decommission 2

The pre-order for NEMO Decommission 2 closes on the 30th of September. Production will start immediately afterwards.

COLLABORATION CAPS

We've added the new RWxNK WAVE SEQ2 cap to our store! This cap is machined from Stainless Steel and features a unique chromatic Blue/Purple PVD. This coating is tough to produce as it requires multiple PVD coatings to achieve the multi-colour finish.

The U80-A’s are ready to be packed as soon as they arrive in our warehouse. Once the remaining U80-A’s are shipped, we can inventory and offer the extra’s up for purchase, we’ll post a date when they will be available when we know!

These are in the final stages of production; we expect that we may be able to have them freighted to our warehouse by the end of this month! Will post updates closer to the date.

FOUNDRY JULES

The JULES keyboard is heavily in the machining stage with some of the units completed - they are being stockpiled and will go off to surface finishing once they’re all machined.

M50-A

The M50-A units are currently in anodising, with the rest awaiting powder coating!

GRID SEQ2 Keycaps

We’ve received the colour samples for the SEQ2 release of the GRID caps, we’re happy with how the colour has come out and are continuing with the manufacturing run, we expect to ship the caps next month.

M65-B

M65-B are all in anodising (Aluminium Editions) and PVD coating now (TANK Edition) - we expect the units to be finished at the end of this month and the Polycarbonate units shortly after. These are all in the final stages, and we hope to have them packaged next month and sea-freighted off to our warehouse for final packing and shipping.

M60-A Olivia / LNY

Both M60 editions have finished machining and are currently being polished before the next stages of post-processing.

M6-C YOLK

The remainder of the M6-C YOLK editions will be finished by the middle of this month, and we can expect to receive them by the end of the month for shipping

U80-A Remaining units / THERMAL

The shipping container is ordered, and these are all being packed and will be off to Australia shortly.

ZENITH

Our most recent Foundry offering, ZENITH, has concluded pre-orders. Any extra allocated stock units will be available through our store until sold-out. We expect machining alone to take around 4-6 months.

Australian Warehouse - STAGE 4 Restrictions

As of last week, Melbourne was placed into Stage 4 lockdown, and only some businesses can operate under these newly introduced restrictions. RAMA WORKS is within the approved companies and will continue to operate and ship during this time. However we will be working at a reduced capacity until we write-out Worker Permits for our temporary packing staff - we are sorting this out as soon as possible. Our main priority is keeping our workers safe and operating within the Government guidelines.

CANVAS 2 / XL

The CANVAS is back open again for pre-order, this way we can supply the demand of the units. The pre-order will close on the 15th of August. At that point, we will then begin production

M10-C

The M10’s are shipping!! Excited to see these out 😁

We’ve also extended the GRID keycaps to the end of the month as well. The CANVAS XL are now being packed and shipped along with the FILM accessories + NEMO. M6 Milkshake will also be shipping out to the distributors shortly!

The machining has completed for the Aluminium variants of the M65-B! We expect to freight the Aluminium units next month and the polycarbonate ones later (will update as we are closer to the date).

PROJECT UPDATES

M60-A SEQ2

The contents of our container of M60-A units are arriving at our warehouse this Thursday or Friday - we’ll post an update when it does!

U80-A

The machining for the U80 will finish this month! It will then move onto finish treatment; this includes: polishing, bead-blasting + surface treatment (Anodising / PVD). As each piece needs to be polished before it’s either bead-blasted or coated, it will take some time. We estimate it to finish production by the middle of February. Packaging & Logistics will also take a considerable amount of time given the number of units.

THERMAL

We estimate the THERMAL units to finish production at the end of February. Again, it will have to go considerable packaging and logistics before they ship. For both the U80 & THERMAL we estimate it will ship in Q1 of 2020.

NEMO

NEMO will be completed machining this month, it will then move to the final processing. Note that this does not include the RW01 which will finish in Q1 of 2020. We will be shipping both NEMO and RW01 in Q1 - we’re working on some special packaging to include with each unit!

Camera Accessories

These should be shipping in February! They have finished manufacturing and will be assembled & packed when they arrive in our warehouse.
