Step 1: Stand-offs + Stabilisers

After unboxing your U80-A, first install the 12 3.5mm Standoffs using the 12 M2x3 fasteners. Then insert the 4x2U and 1x7U Stabilisers.

Step 2: MUTE

Lay down the MUTE Dampening pad on top of the PCB

STEP 3: PLATE

Secure the plate to the standoffs with the 12 M2x3 Countersunk screws (the included T6 tool can be used to fasten it)

Step 4: Switches

Start by inserting the switches in the middle of the plate and work your way outwards. Make sure to keep the switch pins completely perpindicular and insert at a 90 degree angle.

Step 5:

Place the plate sub-assembly into the top enclosure, make sure it’s inserted completely parallel.

Step 6: U1-C + accessories

Install the U1-C USB-C Daughterboard to the base using the supplied M2x4 fasteners. OPTIONAL: At this point you can install the Internal Weight or Internal Dampener if you have one using the M3x5 fasteners.

Step 6:

Leaving the top half flat, facing top-down, slowly and carefully place the base into it (making sure that the U1-C internal cable is connected to the main PCB). Then fasten the two halves together using the M4x6 fasteners. At this stage, or any stage previous you can place the feet on the base.

The U80-A is now fully assembled and keycaps can be installed!
